Grey sole, 2-4 oz fillets – they are a species of flatfish from the family Pleuronectidae, just like Lemon Sole. It occurs on both sides of the North Atlantic Ocean on muddy sea beds in quite deep cold water. It is an elusive fish and very hard to come by these days…..this is ONE OF OUR TOP FIVE FAVORITE SPECIES – We like this fish so much because it eats just like its fancy cousin the Dover Sole.
The fillets on this are small – 2-4 oz each, we suggest that you serve (2) fillets per person – they are FANTASTIC for frying – this is a “gateway” fish – lol…once your kiddies try a fish finger made from this they will never want a chicken nugget again!!!
